Order school supplies from the PTA store!
This year we are offering Back-to-School supply kits for grades Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. Additionally you may order patches, school t-shirts & sweatshirts, seat sacks, spanish dictionaries, and sports bags for children of any grade. Update: a few supply items have been correctly updated on the Supply Details sheet (link below). Generally, everything is included from the mandatory portion of teacher supply list unless specifically mentioned on the Supply Details List as 'Not Included.' Did you know that you can order school supplies from the PTA store?
Simply fill out the PTA Store Order form, write a check for the total amount, and place it in your child’s communicator. The order will be processed and the items delivered to your child’s classroom. What a deal! For more information, please email sunset_pta@yahoo.com. Also, you can visit the PTA store in person from 8:00am – 8:40am and from 3:00pm – 4:20pm weekdays. See you there!
Volunteer Corner
Did you know that ALL volunteers need to ‘sign up’ each year? The process is very simple for volunteers from last year. First go to the dadeschools website (www.dadeschools.net). Click on the Community link on the right side of the page. Then click on the button that says ‘Login to Portal.’ On the right-hand side click on ‘Create an Account’ and follow the instructions (you may have an account in the Parent Portal, but this is an account for the Community Portal). Follow the registration process and then the steps to login to the Community Portal. Once you login, click on the link that says ‘Become a school volunteer.’ Follow the instructions and your request will be processed to be a volunteer at Sunset. PTA Directories
PTA directories include contact information for all students and faculty as well as the PTA calendar. If you would like to receive a directory, please complete the Parent Contact Information Form once school starts in the fall. More forms can be found at the PTA Store.

In the interest of continual improvement, we'd love to hear how we are doing. Please feel free to give feedback - good as well as "constructive". What did we do last year that we should keep for this? What would you like to see happen this year? What did we do that could be improved? All ideas are welcome.
