The Sunset Elementary PTA plans events and activities at the school level to fulfill the goals and objectives of the National PTA .  Below is a short section on the national PTA, followed by what we are about at the local/school level.

About Sunset Elementary PTA

The Sunset Elementary School PTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer organization, which works to enhance the educational experience for our children. We operate a large number of programs around the school, ranging from Fitness Day programs to celebratory events and fundraisers (for example: Lavender’s sale, Book Fair, PTA store), all aimed to support the school and enrich the school experience. We also provide teachers with annual funds to supplement and enhance the curriculum. The PTA sponsors luncheons, breakfast and other recognitions to the Staff to show our support for all the wonderful efforts of our staff at Sunset Elementary.  Additionally, we support child safety, such as extra policemen and landscape improvements.

What does the Sunset PTA do?

The PTA is an organization of families, teachers, and members of the community whose purpose is to focus on and be an advocate for the children.  Together we are a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.  By joining the Sunset PTA, you become a part of the largest child advocacy organization in the country, with over 364,000 members across Florida and 6 million members nationally.  Your membership helps create the infrastructure to provide these programs.

So how do I become a PTA member and become involved?
